What are some of the benefits?
Working as a translator.

At Simply Translate, we continually strive to refine our technology. This includes integrating new features powered by AI. Above all, we aim for simplicity and efficiency, enabling you to stay focused on your core skill – translating.

What can you anticipate?

Enjoy the liberty of selecting projects that pique your interest. We have a constant stream of work, with jobs dispatched automatically. Bear in mind that most of our larger projects are managed manually, so if you’re aiming for these, you’ll need to take on a few smaller projects first to showcase your talent.

We’ll provide you access to a personalized dashboard where you can manage your profile, finances, and projects. This tool assists you in keeping a record of your assignments and gives you an immediate overview of the available projects.

The flexibility of work hours is a favored feature among many of our translators. Moreover, several of our translators have chosen to travel or relocate, enjoying the benefits of working remotely. We’re always thrilled to hear about your adventures and appreciate photos from the beautiful places you visit!

Earning an independent income

Our system automates the project process. Invoices are generated monthly and paid automatically the following month. Your primary task is to accept a project that matches your skills. Payments are predetermined, and we establish a contract based on a price per word.

What do we expect from you?

As a Simply Translator

We’re on the lookout for gifted translators with an excellent grasp of their native language. If you have remarkable translation abilities, especially from your native language to the target language, we’d love to partner with you. Proven experience in the translation field is a huge plus.

Furthermore, we value those with an innate understanding of language and unwavering attention to detail. In the world of translation, subtle nuances can be game-changing. If you demonstrate meticulousness in your work, ensuring each word, sentence, and paragraph aligns flawlessly with the original content, we’re interested.

Finally, we seek individuals with a proactive attitude and the capacity to work autonomously. If you’re someone who takes initiative and delivers projects on schedule without sacrificing quality, you could be an excellent fit for our freelance team.

Questions?
We have the answers.

Do you still have question marks about taking on translation projects or finances? Below are the most frequently asked questions to us. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for, don’t hesitate to contact us.

When will I be accepted into your freelance team?

Trust is one of our key values. We expect this from our colleagues and also from you as a freelancer when we collaborate. For this reason, we will first assess your translation skills to see if they meet our expectations. This is done through a short translation test in your area of expertise.

How do I receive translation projects?

We work with the XTRF system. In this, you get a profile where your translation skills and an overview of your finances are displayed. The system operates with a so-called ‘cascade’ system. This means that random invitations are sent via email. This cascade always has a certain duration, depending on the deadline of the assignment. If you decide to accept the assignment within this time, you can indicate this with a mouse click in the system.

In which CAT am I going to work?

Our infrastructure is based on MateCat. You will standardly receive a link to this CAT to complete your translations. In some cases, work is done outside of a CAT to ensure the format remains intact.

Do I need to be registered with the Chamber of Commerce?

If you are working from the Netherlands, you must be registered with the Chamber of Commerce. If you live abroad, we need your VAT number (if applicable) and a reference as to why you are eligible for VAT exemption.

How do I get paid?

We pay your fee via a bank transfer. To avoid high costs for both you and us, we ask you to share your IBAN bank account number with us. Don’t have one yet? Most online banks offer the possibility to open a EUR account. This way, you automatically receive an IBAN that you can share with us.
